Younger Elementary Montessori Teacher
Elementary teacher (AMI) sought by PRAIRIE HILL Learning Center, a Montessori farm school.
Position available: Guide approximately 25 children ages 6-9 with an experienced full-time assistant. The PRAIRIE HILL campus consists of 12 acres of unspoiled prairie along with wooded and park-like areas. Our elementary community is housed in a unique, straw-bale construction building, powered by solar/wind power. We offer our students integrated experiences in music, art, gardening, and animal husbandry (horses, ducks, sheep, chickens…) presented by talented staff. The children, along with an experienced chef, prepare fresh, vegetarian meals daily. PRAIRIE HILL has a 32-year history of environmental education and a commitment to the highest Montessori standards. Teachers are respected and supported by the administration and non-profit board of directors. Teachers may choose to work year-round as a part of our NatureWorks summer camp program or select a 10-month employment contract.
