AMI Trained Primary Guide

Guadalupe Montessori School is seeking an AMI trained Primary Guide for an established 3-6 class starting August 2013. The ideal candidate will have substantial classroom management experience, although new teachers are also encouraged to apply. We are looking for the right match.

We want a guide dedicated to supporting children, even in challenging moments. The ideal candidate upholds high standards of learning and a respectful vision of the child, while meeting the child with patience and perseverance exactly where they are. The ideal candidate shows firm commitment to AMI principles, and devotion to a joyful, engaging, and beautifully ordered prepared environment. We are looking for someone with a mature, happy, and grounded self, who can connect with inner calm during a busy day.

GMS is located in Silver City, New Mexico, close to the Gila Wilderness. We have a garden and an organic lunch program. Surrounding areas provide opportunities for hiking, biking, backpacking and fishing. The town offers the Blues Festival, the Tour of the Gila, concerts, art fairs, an active farmers market and more. Parks, libraries, museums, galleries, a swimming pool, and hiking trails are all within walking distance from the school.
