AMI-Trained Primary Directress Sought for Year-Round Position

The Arlington Montessori House (AMH) is an amazing community school that was established more than 20 years ago and has grown and thrived over the years. We are looking for a well-qualified, experienced Primary Directress or Director for the 2013-14 school year. We want an eager, confident, compassionate, good-natured and loving individual who is interested in joining a close-knit and supportive environment. We are dedicated to our children and each other and are looking for someone with our similar passion for and dedication to the AMI Montessori method.

AMH is an AMI-recognized school in a walkable, metro-friendly neighborhood in Arlington, VA. We have two primary Montessori classrooms in two charming houses with a large playground and two children's gardens. The Board of Directors, comprised of parents, staff and alumni, strongly support the school and staff.

We have established a summer Montessori classroom and the directress or director hired for this position would work in the summer classroom in addition to the school year classroom. However, generous breaks/vacations are provided.

The position begins in late August 2013. The daily work hours are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm with additional afternoon, evening and weekend hours required on occasion. Previous experience in a primary classroom is strongly preferred. Salary is negotiable based upon experience.
