Head of School

Walnut Farm Montessori School (WFMS), www.walnutfarmmontessori.com, in Bentonville, Arkansas, is seeking a Head of School who has a strong understanding of Montessori philosophy and pedagogy beginning the summer of 2013. Located in northwest Arkansas, the school has built a strong reputation throughout the Midwest region during its 21 years of operation and is Montessori accredited.

WFMS serves children 18-months through 12 years of age with a current enrollment of 107. Classrooms are rich and thriving environments directed by a gifted, experienced group of teachers whose dedication is thoroughly admired. This is complimented by a committed and talented staff to support all areas of the operation on the continued progress of WFMS.

A strong candidate will have exceptional leadership qualities, previous administrative experience, will embrace the Montessori methodology with enthusiasm, and will speak articulately of the schools philosophy and goals. He/She will be a considerate listener who does not shy away from tough decisions while regularly and actively communicating to all constituencies, noteworthy aspects of the schools accomplishments, challenges, and goals. Being a role model for the educational goals of self-confidence, independence, positive attitude, and respect for others will also be considered. The Head of School must also be the heart of this family community.

Candidate materials will be reviewed as received. Competitive compensation will be offered, and it is anticipated that the appointment will be announced in March with responsibilities beginning in either April or May.
