Montessori Primary Coach

Annie Fisher Montessori Magnet School is dedicated to authentic Montessori practice in a public school setting. We believe that Montessori guides both at the inception of their classroom practice or over the span of a career benefit from mentoring from an experienced colleague. To that end, the AFM program design includes an experienced AMI trained coach each at the Primary and Elementary level.

Annie Fisher Montessori is currently seeking a PRIMARY COACH with a breadth of experience, a deep Montessori vision, and the patience, kindness and resilience to support a public school Montessori implementation.

In addition, it involves the day to day administration of the primary program as well as ensuring that testing required by the district is completed on schedule with minimum disruption to the work-cycle of the classroom. As part of a supportive and committed leadership team, the right candidate will have the opportunity to help envision and implement a Montessori program that remains true to Dr. Montessori’s vision of social reform and peace.

In 2012, AFM was awarded “recognition” by AMI/USA, an acknowledgment of the highest quality program implementation at both primary and elementary levels. Annie Fisher is the only Public Montessori program nationwide that is currently awarded this status by AMI/USA. The applicant must have a Bachelor’s degree, an AMI diploma with a minimum 10 years classroom experience and the desire to become CT certified through an alternative route to certification.
