Hartford Public Schools’ Montessori Initiatives is accepting applications from AMI certified Primary and Elementary guides as well as Adolescent guides dedicated to authentic Montessori practice in a public school setting.
The HPS Montessori Initiatives is a pathway for public Montessori education from Primary through High School. Currently with two primary/elementary schools, there will be the addition of an Erdkinder and High school over the next five years. In 2012, Annie Fisher Montessori was awarded “recognition” by AMI/USA, an acknowledgment of the highest quality program implementation at both primary and elementary levels. Annie Fisher is the only Public Montessori program nationwide that is currently awarded this status by AMI/USA. It is also the only Montessori program (public or private) in Connecticut to receive recognition at the elementary level. The schools have well-equipped classrooms, AMI trained leadership, AMI Montessori coaches, a supportive community, and proximity to an AMI Training Center. Primary and Elementary applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree and an AMI diploma with a minimum 3 years classroom experience.
