AMI Recognition Consultations

Consultation is a part of the formal AMI Recognition process. It benefits schools by providing a standard of excellence and serves as a vehicle for continuing education for faculty and administrators. Consultation is pedagogical in nature; it safeguards and enhances compliance with AMI standards which contributes to the assurance provided to families about the authenticity of the education provided. The guiding directive for consultation is to provide support and assistance to the adults who work within the sphere of the child.

A consultation provides:

  • confirmation of recognition as a Recognized, Affiliated, or Associated program.

  • assistance to the teacher in implementing Montessori pedagogy.

  • assurance of a prepared environment suitable for activity for the child’s particular age.

  • guidance to the administration in supporting the teachers.

The consultation fees shown on the chart above include observation of both morning and afternoon sessions, conferences with individual teachers and school administration, written reports, and administrative costs of the program.

*A “teacher” at the adolescent level means all full-time adults. An adolescent community consultation is planned for a minimum of two days as the observation at this level involves multiple spaces that make up the environment and a variety of activities that happen, differing from day to day. If the configuration of your adolescent program does not match the description on this application, contact us to discuss consultation options.

UPDATES

The airfare/transportation flat fee is being discontinued. Schools are now required to pay actual airfare expenses and all local transportation expenses in addition to lodging and meals.
